H&M rated with B-mark for efforts to improve labour conditions in value chain

Today the organisation Not for Sale published a report and rated H&M with with B-mark for efforts to improve labour conditions in value chain.

Today, the organisation Not for Sale published an comprehensive report on labour conditions behind apparel products across 50 different smaller and bigger brands.

I´m happy to see that the report constitutes a positive development in our industry with several companies having developed ambitious CSR strategies and systems over the last two decades. I´m also glad to see that with an overall B-rating and an A+ rate for policies (on a scale from A to F) H&M is on good track to live up to our goal to be at the forefront of sustainability in our industry. But clearly, there is more work to be done for H&M as well as for our entire industry.

The report provides very valuable feedback and rightfully puts the spotlight on some of the remaining key challenges in our industry – from the need for increased traceability along the value chain to continued efforts to achieve fair wages for workers that are enough to live on.

It´s inspiring to see the efforts of a whole range of innovative smaller brands highlighted in the report. At H&M we will keep working hard to seek for ways to tackle these challenges on large scale and continue to help making fashion and our industry more sustainable.
