The Swedish second-hand platform Sellpy continues its rapid international growth by launching its e-commerce in another 20 European countries. To be closer to its European customers Sellpy has also initiated a partnership with the H&M Group’s global supply chain unit in Poland.
Sellpy expands into 20 new markets and collaborates with H&M Group’s global supply chain
Consumer demand for second hand has never been so strong and is one of the fastest growing market segments within the fashion industry. In June 2020 Sellpy took its first international step and launched in Germany and in February this year, expanded to the Netherlands and Austria. It is now launching its e-commerce in another 20 countries in Europe through a new website, sellpy.com.
Every garment bought pre-owned saves resources for our planet. Demand in our new markets is growing rapidly and therefore it is incredibly fun that we continue to expand so that we can empower more customers in Europe to live circular.
Gustav Wessman Head of Expansion Sellpy
H&M Group began its strategic partnership with Sellpy in 2015, through the company’s investment arm H&M CO: LAB with the vision to empower consumers to live in a more circular way and keep fashion in use for as long as possible.
We’re excited about Sellpy’s continued international expansion which we support with our strategic partnership and as owners. We always aim for adding value to our portfolio companies to support them in realising their ambitions.
Nanna Andersen, Head of H&M CO:LAB
To meet the increasing demand from its European customers, Sellpy will also collaborate with H&M Group’s global supply chain via access to a modern warehouse unit in Poznań, Poland. All processes related to Sellpy’s circular services will be operated by Logistics Region East Europe team, part of H&M Group’s global supply chain.
