H&M Group in partnership to battle COVID-19

H&M Group is partnering with Heart17 to reach out to young people through our global social media channels to raise awareness and increase engagement in the battle against COVID-19.

To increase the knowledge among young people and help spread useful information about the virus, H&M Group is now partnering with Heart17, a global initiative to help accelerate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Together with a unique set of partners the initiative aims to instill a message of hope and show that collaboration is key to overcoming challenges.

The partnership draws on the key messages and experiences of the UN Development Programme (UNDP), which operates in nearly 170 countries. As UNDP is rapidly scaling up the support in the fight against COVID-19, H&M Group, is now looking into helping the organisation to extend its reach to young people through our global channels and network of followers within the H&M brand.

“The spread of COVID-19 is affecting people, communities and businesses all over the world. Global challenges can only be solved by working together with others, in this time more than ever. UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are important for us, for our customers and for the world and they clearly call for such collaboration. We all have to support in any way we can and we are therefore proud to partner up with Heart17 and UNDP in their mission to accelerate the SDGs in order to fight the virus and spread hope among young people”

Helena Helmersson, CEO H&M Group.

This is the first step in a long-term partnership between H&M Group, Heart17, UNDP and other partners, to share and create new ideas to accelerate and activate the SDGs among young people. The COVID-19 initiative directly addresses Sustainable Development Goal 3, Good Health and Wellbeing.
