Fashion for the planet: from waste to good taste
Once a year, H&M launches a new Conscious Exclusive collection – an experimental range of garments and accessories dreamed up by our design team using the most innovative environmentally friendly materials.
Welcome to a world where sustainability meets style!

What could be more tantalizingly tasteful than a high-end fashion collection that pushes the boundaries of sustainable style? Determined to make a positive impact on the planet, we love to make a green fashion statement. That’s why H&M comes up with a new Conscious Exclusive collection every year. Designed with the style- and conscious customer in mind, this cutting-edge range of environmentally friendly pieces represent the very latest in sustainable fashion.
Materials matter
Once tried and tested in the Conscious Exclusive collection, many of these materials are then introduced to our other ranges, helping us fulfil our ambition to make sustainable, good-quality fashion accessible to as many people as possible. Combining the latest innovations within sustainable materials with the creativity and style sense of our design team, Conscious Exclusive is a driver in our move towards a more sustainable fashion future. Today, 26 percent of our products are made using sustainably sourced materials, but we are aiming for much more.
By 2030 the latest, all of our materials should come from sustainable sources.

Why is the Conscious Exclusive collection important?
Since 2012, the Conscious Exclusive collection has been a highlight of the fashion calendar, giving the world exquisite designs in innovative materials made from sustainably grown fibre crops or recycled materials. Take Tencel, for example, which is made from wood cellulose obtained from eucalyptus trees that are grown sustainably; and Denimite, made from recycled scraps of denim. The sustainable polyester fibre BIONIC® was incorporated into the 2017 Conscious Exclusive collection. Made from recycled plastic shoreline waste and PET bottles, this pioneering material is created from waste sweeping the world’s ocean shores.

What do H&M group mean by sustainably sourced materials?
The Conscious Exclusive collection is created using more sustainable materials: fabrics that have a smaller and less harmful environmental impact than conventional textiles, such as those made from sustainably grown fibre crops or recycled materials.
