Georgia May Jagger is in the Rock’N’Roll Mansion this spring at H&M
Model Georgia May Jagger will showcase H&M’s Rock‘n’Roll Mansion collection this February. Georgia, daughter of Rolling Stone frontman, Mick Jagger and model Jerry Hall, is the quintessential poster child for all things bridging music and fashion. The collection boasts edgy biker jackets and tie-dye jeans, mixed boucle jackets and belted shift dresses reminiscent of staples for music and fashion aficionados.. “I love the dress,” says Georgia. “It’s such a versatile piece, and full of new rock‘n’roll spirit.” Georgia shot the campaign in a luxury rock mansion, surrounded by guitars, drum kits and motorbikes. “I think music influences fashion and has done so for generations,” says Georgia. “Music creates a certain mood and then people dress accordingly. I think it’s all quite closely intertwined.” Georgia’s own style is reflected in the mix of the collection. “I don’t really have an everyday look,” she says. “I wear what makes me feel good. It can be skinny jeans one day, and dresses and boots another.” Georgia, who turns 21 this month, is committed to her career in fashion. “I’m really enjoying what I’m doing at the moment,” she says. “I’m still so young so it’s hard for me to imagine what I might be doing in ten years time. I really like photography, so it would be great to do more in the future.”
Essential spring looks at H&M: New bohemia for women, color and print for men
This spring, H&M offers a modern take on romantic bohemian styles for women, and bold colors and prints for men. H&M designers suggest the key pieces of the season for both women and men alike.
Women
“I really like the new bohemian look at H&M,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s Head of Design. “It feels fresh thanks to the sporty shapes, sun-bleached colors and new forms of embellishment.”
– QUILTED BOMBER: “The bomber is the perfect piece to kick off the season. H&M’s updated version softens a rugged classic with quilting and printed details.”
– DRAPED BLAZER: “This is one of those pieces I can’t wait to wear. I know I’ll rely on it all season long because of its softened, tailored silhouette!”
– TASSELED SKIRT: “This skirt gives any outfit a burst of color and fun with its layers of tassels. It’s best paired with a minimal tee for the ideal, modern look.” RED WIDE LEG TROUSERS: “It’s great how something this clean can also translate as bohemian. The silky, soft ease of these pants are a must-have for this coming spring.”
– COWBOY ANKLE BOOTS: “These boots lend any modern bohemian a look with just the right amount of an urban edge. I envision paired with a tasseled bag.”
Men
“It’s so exciting that men today are wearing more prints and colors,” says Andreas Löwenstam, H&M’s head menswear designer, “and are confident enough to try something new at H&M in order to find their own personal style.”
– NEW BLAZERS: “There’s so much innovation in blazers this season from color, print and cut and fabric. I love the fact that there’s such new life in this traditional garment.”
– SHORT SHORTS: “Shorts are looking better than ever when worn tailored. The shorter length really defines the boxy, sporty silhouette of the season.”
– GRAPHIC PRINT PANTS: “This new confidence in men’s dressing means there are so many new choices, like these amazing graphic print pants. Wear them with a shirt and blazer, or with your favorite T-shirt.”
– UTILITY JACKET: “Utility jackets have returned to fashion in a big way. The details are important like pockets and shoulder epaulettes. It’s such a useful layering piece.”
– BASEBALL CAPS: “It’s amazing how an accessory can add a whole new dimension. Wearing a baseball cap with a blazer shows you understand how to make tailoring work for the 21st century.”
Menswear designer pick: The expert’s choice for the looks of the moment
It’s all about getting the total look right now in menswear according to H&M’s head menswear designer Andreas Löwenstam. Here he picks his favorite trends for the beginning of the new year.
– SHARP SILHOUETTE: “Wearing this navy jacket and pants with a clean white shirt and tie is like a palette cleanser for the new year. It hints at the sharp new tailoring which will dominate 2013 and looks even better with an H&M leather briefcase.”
– FRESH PLAID: “Plaid is such a great way to wear color. I love the neatness of this jacket, worn with great jeans, a colored crewneck sweatshirt or a raglan tee underneath and a pair of white sneakers to complete the look.”
– NEW UTILITY: “It’s great to get in on a trend like utility early on particularly because it’s so wearable. This utility jacket will soon become a favorite, especially when worn with a sailor stripe top or a textured marled crewneck.”
– CITY SMART: “This car coat cuts such an elegant silhouette and looks so modern in this shade of blue. It looks great in the city when worn with a cable-knit sweater, some new classic beige chinos and a great pair of brown lace-ups.”
– BRILLIANT PRINT: “Graphic print pants look so strong right now and are so versatile to wear. One great option is to match them with this season’s essential baseball jacket and a crewneck T-shirt.”
