H&M among the three most green companies in the apparel and retail sector
Interbrand has published their latest “Best Global Green Brands” ranking. For the second time in a row, H&M is included among the 50 top brands, further moving up from last year. Among the apparel/retail brands H&M is among the top three companies.
This ranking is unique in the way it combines sustainability performance with consumer perception. Consumer perception has been measured through interviews with 10,000 people in the world’s 10 largest economies. According to Interbrand, H&M improved in both. The ranking also measures the gap between performance and perception. For H&M, Interbrand identifies a minimal plus on the performance site.
Among other things, H&M is noticed for signing the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh and for the aim of having all its cotton originating from sustainable sources by 2020.
